Hey guys um well I doubt I'll get the atar required for my course at my chosen uni so Im considering applying for a lower course offered at my chosen uni, then transferring to my desired course.
Reckon its a good idea? or is it preferable for me to taken up my desired course at uws (because the cut off is within my range) then transfer to my chosen uni?

BTW SORRY IF I'VE CONFUSED ANYONE! lol

We've got the same plan :D
Transferring from a course within a Uni would be much easier transferring Uni to Uni as you'd have to go through uac and they'd take your GPA and ATAR into consideration
If you do transfer from a course within a uni, it's best if you chose a course that's somewhat related as you can use the credits :)

So what you're saying is applying @ UWS then getting credit/ distinction averages would give me a better chance at transfering?

I reaaaaaaally want to go to usyd... and the lowest course there is 75 (which hopefully I will get :/ )... but the thing is that it has absolutely NOTHING to do with my desired course which is Bachelor of applied science (occupational therapy), requires an atar of 91! lol so I'm really confused as to what to do... I dread going to uws (not trying to target anyone but its just me, personally) lol. Reckon it'd still be a safe option for me to transfer within usyd? :)

Hey Kaz sorry to question you but what makes you think its harder to transfer internally? I only ask because i am sure i can get into unsw or uts but not very likely into my preferred area, i had the option of going to my chosen field numerous times at uws but its uws so i decided against that:p
If i dont get into uts or unsw for my chosen field i assumed it would be better to do a related course at uts or unsw then transfer internally rather then go to uws and go through uac and hope to get in.

Few of my friends applied for transfer, all got rejected through internal transfer but accepted through UAC or it might just be that the UNSW transfer system is strict.
