its hard to say because not -only- does standard have bad scaling but you aren't getting very good marks.

you are doing 11 units. so 1 unit of a subject won't count. im not sure if english is allowed to not count if its your worst.

Clarification Laz?

yeah. i remmebered reading on another post that if you did extension 2 english then 2units of advanced english won't have to count.

but with standard i guess it counts.

i assume those were your trial marks or final mark so i guess i can't say you can improve your ranking on it. but you need to focus on it more for the HSC

then you still have a chance to redeem yourself :)

don't bother with other subjects now. just english all day and night :) your very better off neglecting your other subjects until those assessments are over because seriously, that english standard is gonna haunt you a lot :p

hmmm badluck :(

i know how it feels. after the exams the teachers try to cram all the assessments that need to be done before it can be submitted to bos.

1 Question. What has our assessment marks have 2 do with the actual HSC mark besides the ranking? what if , just say, that the highest assessment in da subj was 40%, what would that 40% go 2?

generally, its mainly to show relative differences between students in your subject. Because marks cannot be compared between different schools due to varying difficulties in exams/assessments.

If you got 40% and came first it doesn't matter. When you are ranked 1st you are totally immune to changes that can occur from the rest of your class.

So if you got 40% and ranked first, it may show your exam in school was very hard and thus when you do the HSC exam it should be pretty easy. And thus a 90/100 as the highest will become your moderated assessment mark, instead of that 40%

check the clink in my sig if you have not alrady read it. it has a good example
