Hey everybody,
In light of my recent ATAR estimate being much higher than anticipated (music 2 + ext scales so much guys, I tell you), I am now considering the UNSW Bachelor of Vision Science/Master of Clinical Optometry. First, a few questions:
1. What does an optometrist even do? From experience, all they do is just put lenses in front of your eyes ("is 1 better or 2 better"). Is there anything else to the job?
2. What are the careers like? Pay, opportunities (for females especially), etc...?
3. How competitive is entry to the course?
4. Obviously, HSC Plus doesn't apply here, but do other adjustment factors (I have 3-4 EAPL points at my disposal) apply?
5. Is this career something that I can potentially do anywhere, including Asia, America, etc.?
Thanks for your time
