Vietnam War: A plea for help with essay topic (1 Viewer)

This is a plea for help out of desperation! I have a plethora of information regarding the Vietnam War, I just dont know where to lead my Major Project in terms of the actual topic for the essay.

Any form of guidance will be most gratefully appreciated!

I'm the only person in my school that does History Extension.

Focus on a group of people involved, or a particular battle, the causes of the war, ideology behind the war (Communism vs. Capitalism), how the Vietnam war was in a broader context a part of the Cold War (a war to fight prevent the spread of Communism? -remember the 'domino' theory), reasons for the failure of the Vietnam War...

Or it could be something like the historiography of the Vietnam War (which can include movies as well as traditional written history..so movies like 'Platoon') or changing atitudes towards the war (people were vehemently opposed to the war in the 1960s but it's only recently that Vietnam vets. are being recognised- which is interesting- why did this change occur?).

Just some thoughts...
