How would you analyse this form in terms of belonging, and techniques used?

They can be used. However, I wouldn't recommend doing it if you're asking how to analyse such a text. =\

ok thanks. how about a video interview? would you pick up on the words - like emotive language etc for technical analysis?

Yes, anything that conveys a sense of belonging can be used, both in terms of text and technique.
