dont worry, i havent studied either. you just have to rely on your consistent hard work throughout the year- tis what i'm doing how can you "study" maths the night before anyway? i just keep saying that to myself to make me feel confident lol

i did it in class the other day....damn it! i wasn't paying attention in class again.

if this is about year 11 2-unit., my lowest was 82. but that was in the first test. after that i never got lower than 85.

i think i am starting on a good note at the moment. for the first test in year 12 i got 96!!

You pick nasty ones.

y=x^2/(2x+3)
Polynomail division gives:
y=[x/2-3/4] + 9/(8x+12)

y=x/2 - 3/4 is an oblique asymptote.

If you don't believe me, check:
Does x/2-3/4=x^2/(2x+3)?
4x^2-9=4x^2
0=9. Uh, yeah, sure.

For:
y=(2x+3)/(x^2+4)
Poly division:
Uh. This doesn't have an oblique asymptote.
You've got no vertical asymptotes since denominator is never zero. And for horizontal asymptotes, x->infinity:
lim(2x+3)/(x^2+4)
x->infinity
is
lim(2/x+3/x^2)/(1+4/x^2)
x->infinity
is 0/1 = 0⁺.

lim(2/x+3/x^2)/(1+4/x^2)
x->negative infinity
is (big neg + small pos)/(1+small pos)=0^-
So horizontal asymptote at y=0.
