this is the what the Qantas case study book says about it

Change and Social Responsibility

Qantas management is expected to take into account the consequences of their decisions on stakeholders and to make decisions that are socially and ethically responsible. examples include:

-ecological sustainability - it is estimated that aviation for 2% of greenhouse gases. Qantas has invested millions of dollars in recent years (including new fuel efficient aircraft) to reduce its carbon emissions. Qantas launched a new schemem in 2007 that gives passengers the option of paying extra to offset the carbon dioxide emitted from their flight. water used to clean the aircraft is recycled. Qantas has engaged advisors to audit water usage and recommen strategies to beter manage and reduce consumption.

- quality of Working Life - Qantas has continued to use flexible work practices to foster work life balance and staff training to improve the quality of working life. Employees were rewarded in 2007 witha cash and share bonus worth $2000 as a positive reinforcement. However, many argue that outsourcing, increased casualisation and introducing AWA's have decreased the qualit of working life at Qantas.

- Cultural Diversity - Having a culturally diverse workforce is a key focus for Qantas. It helps them reflect internally a wide range of customers served around the world. Qantas has encouraged greater understanding of cultural differences within the workplace and established clear communications processes.

There's more than that.

g - globalisation (this is joined with m and is generally a need to be sensitive to other cultures - I did my workplace, Dymocks - flexible rostering allows religious holidays to be observed)
e - e-commerce (need for security in internet banking/bookings - ANZ developed new anti-fraud detection system that cut internet banking losses by up to 40%)
e - ecological sustainability (HSBC is carbon neutral, has environmental targets to reduce waste and carbon dioxide emmissions, as well as its 'Climate Partnership' initiative with The Climate Group

m - managing cultural diversity (same as g)

q - quality of working life (HSBC employees are made to feel valued and supported assets of the business, the business provides numerous opportunities and benefits such as an on-site childcare facility for workers)
t - technology (dymocks again - necessity of a more effective inventory and order record system led to introduction of new computers/software. staff were told about changes and why they were necessary, questions invited, then given one-on-one training and ongoing technical support)

if you want to remember it use 'gee mmm cutie' i.e. gee m qt.
