What are the SMH rankings based on? (1 Viewer)

The rankings in the newspaper for top 10 or 20 in each subject, what are they based on? raw exam mark? scaled exam mark? overall mark ? or what ? Friend of mine got 100 as his overall mark for maths ext1 but still wasn't listed in top 10?

maybe because there were more than 10 other people who got 10 as well, and maybe ur friend got say, 80/84 and that was 100 but the otheres got 81-84..

it's overall mark
also 100 in 3u maths does NOT mean 100%. i got the aligned 100 as well, and was ranked 8th. i know that i got at least one (actually probably only that one mark) off.

so that means 83 aligns to 100 (my internal was close to 84, but not 84)

A HSC mark of 100 could also mean 99.5, e.g. external mark = 99, internal mark = 100 (or vice versa), gives overall HSC mark of 100 as it is rounded up.
