Average in my trial was 62.7/100 with a class of 6 ppl. I think my trial was a bit on the easy side though cause there was no mechanics in it (it was so cooked we hadn't been taught it yet). For reference I got 77/100 and ranked second (WAYY better than I did on some practise trial papers which i averaged mid-high 60s?) A more realistic average might be in the 50s (on second thought low 60s is probably achievable), but for a private or selective school esp if we're talking JRAHS or NSBHS it would be way higher

Yeah ok, For those selective schools, the average is higher because they are basically geniuses?, because I know their test definitely isn't easier lol

Test is definitely way harder, but the fact that everyone there is probably really smart, combined with the fact that 99% of them are tutored so know most question types and have oos knowledge, so that leads to most ppl in selective schools getting like 80/100 BARE minimum, but most 90+/100 (this is based on what some NSBHS users here reported after last year's ext 2 hsc exam on the ext 2 predictions thread)

80/100 is insane as a minimum

Ikr and apparently people who got 80 were 'crying' after the exam. Meanwhile me celebrating with an estimated raw mark of 69 (last year's hsc was a bit easier otherwise 69 might have been an insane score by my standards)

I think this guy was asking about the averages in their trials, not the hsc
The nsb/ruse trial averages are nowhere near 80% 💀💀💀

honestly i didnt want to say this bc im gonna get roasted but theyre as hard as the other high ranking schools' trials but the questions in ruse's are a bit more unique imo (not sure abt nsb) and theyre not like testbook hsc questions. a lot of schools actually try to imitate the hsc in trials but ruse doesnt necessarily stick to the hsc style qustions. someone could correct me if im wrong tho bc i havent attempted the 4u trials for ruse but have seen 3u and 2u

its not as hard are you think bc with practise its doable

Yeah i was attempting some ruse and north sydney boys trials, they aren't super bad except they do have some really unique questions that I have never come across before and their last questions are pretty hard too

possibly unpopular opinion: HSC is way harder than ruse trials and tbh, almost all trials 💀

I swear Hornsby girls is the hardest I have across so far, or I may just be tripping. It makes me depressed because I look at their solutions and its like 'well done' 100% on every question somehow. They must be getting easy 90s on the trial or something

honestly i think youre right

its just bias bc when i think back to my trials performance vs my hsc performance (for 2u but nonetheless) i did so much better in hsc that i just feel like trials was harder but it was just bc i took trials less seriously. logically i know that 2u hsc was hard this year but bc raw mark wise i literally did better in hsc i tend to tell ppl i found trials harder.

but i attempted ruse trials befre hsc and didnt find it that hard but just found the questions really different to how my school's papers and the other papers we got from school would test the same concept so it was just the learning curve that got me there
