G'day guys. I've been chillin' my balls off these holidays to the max and I decided that now its time to do something a little productive. I was considering getting some or all of my text books for my first year Uni Science/Commerce course and getting a bit of a head start. The problem is that initially I thought ill be getting all the text books but I hear that a lot of them are barely ever used and that there is no point. My question to you guys is: Which books tend to be a necessity at Uni and I should definitely consider getting? Is getting a head start is even worthwhile at tertiary level? if yes, what are some other ways through which i could get a head start at Uni? I'd also like to add that I am considering all the following ideas since I am hoping to transfer by the end of the year into Eng/Science / Eng/Com / Medicine or straight Commerce based on my experience in my 1st year Uni (I picked this course just to gain a bit of perspective of what I really like since I'm about a year younger than everyone else I figured I might as well, got no clue what I wanna be doing yet) and hence I'd need to achieve quite a high GPA average. Thanks in advance for anyone who could help
