Hey guys,
I want at least Band 6 for Maths. I came 6th out 2U/3U (1st for just 2 U ppl) out of like 50 ppl. I finished in band 5. How do i finish on band 6?
What raw mark should i be looking at in HSC to get this.
Regards,

I am also curious about this. To have a educated guess based on when BOS have released raw marks in the past I would say about 98-100/120?

You have to be good at maths.
Correction...

You have to be better than a certain number of people at maths ;)...Prob 87% of the state but i havn't checked last years percentiles

Seriously it really depends on how hard the test is and with scaling you may have actually finished as a band 6 (or a band 4..)

Again, depends upon the difficulty of the exam but the estimated cut off is between 97-102/120. But then you get some papers like 2008 that was prob like 107/120 lool

I hope for your sake it's not that, theres not as good distinction between the best and the not quite as good. I reckon you should be hoping for a really hard one:)
Agreed.
If its a hard exam. People will struggle badly(obviously). So if you shine with like a 96/120 i would def assume that would scale up---> 90.
BTW guys. say im coming 2nd and i beat the person in front by a huge mark say like 5 marks would it be possible to end up higher then them?

Ypu guys do know that every mark in maths is an extra 600 ppl you beat. so 5 marks 3000 ppl. Im def going for Q1-9 100% Q10 im hoping to get as close to full marks as possible.

But Namu, he came 6th so wouldn't he need a higher external mark to bring up his internal mark?
not really, its dependent upon what the first ranked person gets, if he gets 99 HSc mark (internal of 99 aswell that would mean) then the OP would get like 97-98 if close, then he would need like 86HSC mark which would be like 88/120 maybe?

I doubt internal marks would be that close between 1st and 6th, but i just thought he'd be better off safe than sorry XD
