So my boyfriend's an idiot. His exam started at 1:55pm and it's now 2:22pm... he's probably just arriving now lol

Will he be able to enter?
What will happen to him :S

from what I understand, they'll sit him down and make him start the exam as soon as he gets there but will not give him extra time or reading time. He will have to put pens down at the same time as everyone else, but I've heard that some schools or supervisors will not alow late entries because they disrupt the people who are doing the exam, but I don't think thats the actual procedure. If he has a valled reason he could probibly fill in a misadventure form or aply to retake the exam somehow.

He'll do it but just miss out on the time he wasted by not being there. There are no resits for HSC exams, you're either there on the day or you can't do the exam.

you're allowed to enter within the first half hour but you don't get any additional time. After the first half hour people are allowed to leave the exam early. The idea is no one who doesn't care about the HSC can leave early enough to talk to a late comer about whats in the exam.

You wouldn't really get much of an advantage from that...

Pretty sure you can enter for the first hour, and after that they wont let you in, you still finish at the same time as everyone else regardless.

It actually varies a bit - you can enter up to an hour after the exam marks and for most cases you still have to finish at the same time as everyone else but...if the reason you are late is something like floods (as happened a couple of years ago) they will give you the full time.

We have to wait until everyone is there to do the exam. Unless like the person has called up and said they're not coming. But not many people come late and if they do it's like 2-3 min late still well before the start time though. Just exam prep takes a good 10-15 min or so.

Yeah, if it is your fault - no extra time. If it is out of your control - such as natural disaster - you will get the fair amount of time which is usually the same as everyone else.
