I'm not 100% sure, but I think that hypothetically, if you were granted exchange to a University overseas, and you did a unit in Archaelogy, which you claimed credit points for on your BA (or towards your Archaeology major), then, that Archaeology exchange code will appear on your results notice and transcript.

They are just shell units if you went on an exchange- they exist in all majors.

eg. I go overseas for semester 2 to do ancient history- then I enrol at usyd in ancient history exchange A, B, C, D for semester 2 and that is what appears on my transcript, rather than the actual units you are studying at the overseas institution. You just pass as well- when you go on exchange none of the actual marks appear on your transcript, you just have to pass.

Thanks for that, although it appears for junior B.A in Archaeology you can only do exchanges, does that mean that the junior part of a B.A is spent overseas?

I'm not sure what you mean by 'junior'. You can generally do an exchange anywhere in the second or third year of your degree. :)

Hey, I mean like this: http://sydney.edu.au/courses/?uos=1&uos_sef_id=ARNE1801_Archaeology__Near_Eastern__Exchange_770
if you click the link, under level it says 'Junior' a friend told me that means your first years of your B.A.

However, after looking at each unit in the archaeology B.A only two courses Near Eastern Exchange and Classical Exchange are Junior Level courses, That can't mean that they are the only units you take on a first year, is it?
