I'm gonna take up jogging (more professionally?) everyday and I need to find a pair of lightweight, durable and comfortable joggers. I usually jog on gravel, concrete and grass. A friend recommended a good pair of Asics and my mother has a nice pair of Brooks. Does anyone have any recommendations to what Brand and/or model to buy? Don't recommend Nike or Adidas please, primarily because they're overrated in terms of performance IMO and use sweatshops. (Although I'll admit that I love their designs and colours)

And while we're at it, what is your favourite pair of joggers? (Post pictures if you can)

Mine was one model from the Nike Shox series.

i got a pair of asics 2100 gt's

they cost about $240
(though i got them for free)

they're extremely light.
and all the parts are made from reputable manufactures.
ie. the sole is made by 3M apparently.

so go for asics.

Pumas are nice.

But I think you should go for Nike, purely because they're made by 11 year old children in most factories in Asia.
im happy you feel that way.
nice face btw

Thanks for all the comments. I'm gonna get a mid-range pair of Asics. Or I'll just steal the brand new pair my mother bought. :)

Obviously the people who have to fucking read it...

It doesn't bother me to much, there is probably worse attention seeking tactics you could use.

You can't really say which runners are best for anyone else, basically it is completely dependent on your foot type and running gait. Your footprint (i.e. high arch, flat foot etc.) isn't a foolproof guide of whether you will over pronate or under pronate or whatever, but it works well enough for most people. If you start getting injuries such as any knee pain, shin splints etc, see a physio and get them to analyse your running style and make a reccomendation as to which shoes you should wear, as there is a good chance you are wearing incorrect shoes.

In my experience, Brooks, Asics, Mizunos and New Balances are all pretty good. I am currently running on Asics Nimbuses, which I will almost guarantee are incorrect for your feet.

go to athletes foot and go on that machine
i did, and whilst they tried to convince me that i had sustained some non-existent foot injury some time in the past, i did get to try on some amazingly comfortable shoes

i ended up getting a pair of saucony ones that were pretty expensive at $180... but still they are the most comfortable shoes that have ever touched my feet
