what mark for band 6 (2 Viewers)

if I am 4/5 and got 87% as raw mark average, what’s the minimum mark I need to get in externals??

everyone in my class are super good I’m pretty sure the top 3 are all above in the 92%+ range.

flopped so bad in trials which was worth the most for my whole grade
I know music 2 scaling is quite bad but how do I possibly pull a band 6 at least

2024: ~36% got B6

75th percentile got 45.5 hsc mark (before scaling)
50th got 43.5

so ur looking to get in between that, maybe 44 hsc mark

raw marks to hsc mark is not known so jus aim in that area

btw this is all out of 50

get as high as u can thats all u can do atp, and hope that ur cohort performs well too

music 2 scaling is actually one of the better ones out of all the HSIE subjects!! it's music 1 that scales questionably, music 2 is honestly comparable to economics from what I've heard, or at least one of the histories

2024: ~36% got B6

but yes this is one of those subjects where it seems there is a 'disproportionate' amount of b6s bc the markers recognise that generally the people who pick music 2 are the ones who do well

and also keep in mind the final HSC mark is a lot more complicated than a direct average (as in your internal raw mark doesn't actually really do anything - I assume you know this but in case not, I have an explanation in this thread: https://boredofstudies.org/threads/ranks-in-hsc.414335/#post-7683088)

honestly even as you are right now you quite likely already tracking towards a b6!

lowkey cooked unless I somehow get full marks for sight singing and composition and my rank isn‘t really putting in a safe spot rn…

but what‘s worse is music ext cuz i got completely screwed over by term 1 and term 2 assessments. it was so bad but i sorta redeemed myself in trials but not enough to carry the first few performances. so im kinda scared if im gonna even band 6 music ext which is so sad cuz i only did the subject with confidence that I was gonna band 6 for sure ((


i do 4u eng, 3u math, chem, music 2+ext
