Hey guys,

I'm in Year 11 and really nervous about the HSC, I need a minimum ATAR of 85, but I hope for 90+.

My subjects.

English Advanced
Croatian Continuers
Business Studies
IPT
SDD
General Maths

I am going to in with 6 subjects as I am doing accelerated Croatian now.
I am doing average in Advanced and was thinking of dropping to Standard.. where I could probably be in the top 10 at our school (which is ranked around 160). What marks would I be needing for 90, and should I drop to standard. Really nervous already

considering you subjects and their generally low scaling, you would probably need to average about at least 85+ to get about ATAR 90

We need to know your advanced ranks, but if you're reasonably good in advanced, i.e. mid ranks, I'd probably say advanced > standard. Use SAM if you wanna see the hsc marks you need for the ATAR you want

Not to mention that Yr 11 has little bearing on how well you might perform in Yr 12.

English Advanced: 80s
Croatian Continuers: 90s
Business Studies: 90s
IPT: high 80s - low 90s
SDD: 90s
General Maths: 90s definitely

If you're dropping to english standard, you need a Band 5, otherwise, your results will be highly affected.
