Hey, I am thinking of dropping a subject as I am on 13 units and it is impacting my ability to perform in my individual subjects. I would drop SOR if I could, but my school requires it, so I'm thinking between Chem + Bio. Last term I ranked 1st in Chemistry with a mark of 29/30, but this term I feel like I got maybe 50-60% on the exam, I'm almost 100% sure my rank is gonna take a decent hit. In Biology, I'm not sure of my rank but got 31/40, but usually perform much better. I just did the second exam and feel like it was much better, hopefully >90%. Bio is much easier for me and Chemistry takes up most of the time out of all my subjects. Chem is more interesting but I'm really just playing the ATAR game atp and don't need either for what I wanna do. My main goal with the one I keep is to get a Band 6. Any advice?? :hammer:

A couple considerations in priority order:
1. which do you enjoy more?
2. which one are you able to do better in?
3. scaling:

this graph basically shows how well these subjects contribute to your atar. if you draw a horizontal line, you can see which final scores (NOT your raw mark but the mark given to you by NESA after HSC), contribute the same for your atar, and then compare this to how you're performing in both subjects currently and see which results in a higher mark.
if that's confusing take this example:

a score of 77ish in chem meant the same to UAC as an 84 in bio (in 2024). Also the y axis is not your atar its just a generic number that UAC uses to calculate your atar
