Okay a certain course recommends i do a certain subject, do you have to do it to gain entry into the course or will it negatively impact your chance of getting into the course even if you have the required ATAR?

no, you just have to do a bridging course or you won't be allowed to enrol in certain subjects

i have assumed knowledge for my course that i haven't done and it didn't impact my entry, nor has it had any negative impact on my understanding of the course.
