Hey all,
Just wondering when you think its the right time to say those two words "I do" not that I'm getting married any time soon although my boyfriend and I have been together for a year and have discussed it, we have been living together for quite a while.
Apart from the fact that I'm bored I'm interested on ppls views of this topic

One of is my closest friends got married earlier this year, she is a year younger than me and is in her final yr of uni this year, and she is now expecting her first child with her husband.
Another of my friends is in her 3 yr at uni and is engaged to get married at the beginning of next yr before she starts her final yr! and I'm thinking "man we are still young and yikes your getting married!"

I've got my whole life planned out:

18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 - Undergraduate years (I'm doing a double degree)

24, 25 - Masters in Psychology/begin career

26 - Get engaged - If I'm allowed to do a PhD then I would

27 - High school reunion - showing off time lol

27.5 - "I do"...

29.5-30 - Kids?! *hic* - I'd love to have 2 or 3 rugrats

30s - Get a PhD done in Psychology

You plan to have 3 kids in 6 months?

Good luck with that.

One would assume I have a partner first before I ask her to marry me.

One would also assume that I want to get married in the first place, too.

And I hate to sound overly cynical, but thread starter, why do you have a measure thing leading up to your 2 year anniversary when it is more than a year away?

Wouldn't it be more rational to have one leading up to your one year anniversary?

Unless it is some romantic (lame) gesture where you are saying you will be together for ever or some shit.

Wow, my mood has suddenly become bitter.

i guess the answer that everyone would have to this question would be when i find the right person and when the time is right.

cept moi, i'll never be getting married because to be honest, i doubt i could find anyone i could put up with "forever", or who could put up with me.

personally i don't like the sound of marriage...it's too permanent and binding...shackling...imprisonment

marry whenever you want.

I'd wanna be pretty financially secure before doing so, but each ot their own.

I'm hoping mid/late-20s, because I don't want to be too old when I have kids.

So I finish my degree when I'm... 23ish, get a stable job, then marriage and kids time.

Although I have an agreement with a friend, that if he has decided he's 100% gay when he's 25, I'll have his kid so his genetic material can get passed on to the next generation. So we'll have to see what the future brings.
