i know this is going to sound like a really stupid question but i have to ask, when they say the preferences close on the 6th does that mean tonight as in 3 hours time or can we still change it tomorrow?

I'm thinking that UAC actually means in 27 hours time, rather than 3 hours.

But technically speaking, midnight on the 6th of January is in 3 hours.

No, midnight on the 6th of January is in 26 hours, as that is the point where the 6th of January ends: section 21, Interpretation Act 1987 (NSW), if you need an official reference

soooo i talked to all the uni people today ... made a HUGE change of mind ... worked till now and get home and realised that the 6th of january midnight is like ... 1 hour ago technicaly speaking ...

i got home at 12:04 :S after 8 hours of driving ... work started straight after attending UTS advisory day thing


in the end im a fucking dickhead for leaving it late but the info i got today really changed my view on a few courses which are currently my top prefferences... sigh guess ill have to wake up at 7:30 to check

thanks man... yeah im hoping so ... i read it a couple of times and it makes more sense to be midnight in 20 ish hours then 12:00AM on the 6th.

they should have made it clearer

I've already answered this question in your PMs. If you don't trust UAC or the Interpretation Act then I'm not sure there is much anyone can say to convince you.

Then you clearly don't understand the concept of specificity, and UAC is not a valid source as its ambiguity was the very thing in question. Good day.
