ok this might be a bit early, but i want a rough idea what ppl are doing first sem of the yr 05

i'm thinking;

COMP247 - Data Communications
COMP125 - Fundamentals of Computer Science
CHN123 - Chinese Civilisation
PHIL132 - Philosophy, Morality and Society

second sem might look something like;

COMP224 - Database Systems
COMP225 - Algorithms and Data Structures
COMP227 - Requirements Analysis and Systems Design
MATH237 - Mathematics IIC

thats a busy semester. 224 is pretty easy if you can handle how absolutely shit boring it is. 225 is fairly involved, 227 is drawing stupid diagrams but the assignments are quite involved. math237 is math, it will probably take a bit of work. id see if you can do one of 225, 227 or 237 is 1st sem to make it a little easier on you.

to be honest, i want to transfer after this sem, and even if i don't, i actually might try and do B Sci in comp to ease the workload :\
but i dunno bout comp225, i think i might struggle for assignments already for 125 this sem

hmm yeah, is 125 a pre req for 125? i think it is. im sure you'd be able to do sem 2 as you have it planned, the shuffling was just a suggestion :D even if you do a BSc in computing you'll probably end up doing the same units anyway at the same rate. no cores, but youll probably do them to meet the pre-reqs for other 200 and 300 level units.

the only thing i'm worrying bout comp125 now is doing the assignments..cos i understood the concepts(not into fine details) that were taught last sem, where as the assignments were pretty hard :(:(

practise makes perfect. you should write little programs that help you understand one aspect of how things work. over the years ive easily written thousands of 10-15 line programs and i still do it on a nearly daily basis. it does take time but if you're doing comp its better to learn that stuff now, rather than still being unsure about it when you're in 3rd year and beyond. in 225 they will just assume you understand it all completely and youll be in for a rough time if you dont have it down

Im doing BA-Psych, but im taking the honours units too, just in case i want to do a fourth year of psychology:

First Sem

PSY222 (goes over 2 sem)
PSY237
PSY232 (goes over 2 sem)
PSY234
LAW114

Second Sem

PSY232 (goes over 2 sem)
PSY236
PSY235
PSY222 (goes over 2 sem)
LAW104

If i enjoy this year, then i think psychology is for me. I'm trying the law units for curiosity.. im wondering what law is like.

1st semester:
MKTG101
ACCG200
BUSL250
JPN221

2nd semester:
BBA111
BBA214
ACCG253
JPN222

I was going to do both accounting units in 1st semester but that would probably be too much accounting for me at one time :(
