I wanted to ask a question about functions on here, but the button above that clearly says "f(x)" does some weird stuff with text? Can @Bored of Studies please sort this out or explain?

It is not actual functions of the text, the f(x) is to insert math equations in LaTeX syntax

its called latex, its basically a programming language for writing stuff in that font. it serves no other purpose
