I believe BF3 is a covalent bond but when i calculate the electronegativity difference between them i get a value of 2.

The electronegativity of B=2.0 and F=4.0 therefore F-B = 2

Apparently if the Electronegativity difference lies between these values it determines what type of bond:

Convalent = 0-1.7 Ionic 1.7-3.3

The value 2 Clearly lies in the ionic category???:frown2:
