Will HSC be marked more leniently this year? (2 Viewers)

Since it's a new syllabus and some of the content hasn't been covered before (esp physics and chemistry) will the band 6/band 5 cutoffs be lower than previous years?

Wouldn't the cutoff depend on how hard the exam is for the whole cohort? I think if more people get high marks then the band 6 cutoff would be higher, so if it's an easier exam then expect a higher cutoff. They might make the exams easier for the new syllabus subjects but there is nothing stopping them from making it hard. By this logic it would also mean that they would make exams for subjects like 2U, 3U, 4U maths hard because it is the last time with the current syllabus. I would really like an easier English exam though.
