just got shortlisted for a scholarship in engineering! =D woOO!

did anyone else get the email/mail?

so what happens when u get shortlisted? do i wait for an interview? how many people do they shortlist:how many scholarships are offered?

I know someone who was shortlisted. Then she got rejected afterwards. I don't think there's an interview. Just wait for them to contact you.

Respectively: don't know, and not enough. The scholarship scene in Australia isn't well-developed.

Yay.......i got shortlisted too LOL.

Nah theres no interview unless ur applying for the faculty of agriculture and science.

They shortlist more ppl than they have scholarships to offer in case some ppl dont accept the offers they make.

And they offer 50 merit scholarships i believe (thats the 5k/yr up to 5 yrs) and 100 entry scholarships (5k one off).

But yeh shortlisting doesnt mean youll definitely get the scholarship as Triangulum pointed out. But we've got a chance!!! hehe

Given my performance in today's ancient exam, I don't think that's likely, unless the cutoff suddenly collapses or I score a marker who's literally a Marxist. (I crapped on a lot about oppressive elites and quoted Mommsen the 1850s socialist ancient historian, before reading over my notes afterwards and realising that my interpretation is totally unfair.)

As for scholarships, I'm still bitter than I didn't even get to shortlist stage. Maybe I should have done a collage or something for my personal statement, they'd lap that up.

apparently they send out rejection / 'youre shortlisted' letters about now, one of my friends got a rejection letter, theyre supposed to come by the end of november... i'm still waiting!!

I got notified of my short listing via email back in early November
