hi
i have heard good things about this community and decided to join. hopefully i can take advantage of what there is on offer as well as being helpful to others.
my upcoming HSC assessment is on physical journeys. this related text must somehow represent the concept of journey.
i am interested in using a film as a related text. at first i was thinking of using "A Beautiful Mind" but figured it was not closely linked to a "physical" journey.
we have been asked to do a seminar -compiling a collection of texts entitled "Representations of the Journey". "You have been asked to speak at the launch of your collection". MUST use TWO of Skrzynecki's poems, ONE from the BOS Stimulus Booklet, and ONE other related text of own choosing.
do you think a film is an appropriate choice when considering it is seminar?
Children of Men is a film i followed closely before and after it's release, and i believe it relates directly to the concept of physical journey.
for anyone interested:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0206634/
trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/childrenofmen/
i would appreciate any feedback on this.
thanks in advance,
harry
