Year 11 Subject Selection: Chemistry Corequsite (1 Viewer)

Hi guys,

Thinking of choosing to do Chemistry in year 11 but apparently it has a corequsite of Mathematics Advanced? I could try Advanced but would feel more comfortable with Standard. Apparently to do chemistry you need to do advanced? Is this true and if so does it say it anywhere on the NESA website or is it just school specific?

It is possible to do it with standard however there is quite a lot of maths in chemistry compared to what you do in year 7-10 science and so that is why your school has probably put you need to do advanced as well. Although most of the maths stuff isn't used per say directly in chemistry having an exposure to harder maths will probably allow you to transfer the same types of thinking skills to solving calculations in other subjects
