The zeeman effect is where the spectral lines split into hyperfine lines when under the influence of a strong magnetic field.

The inability to explain the zeeman effect was one of the problems with the Bohr model of the atom.

The Zeeman Effect is the splitting for hyperfine spectral lines when placed inside a magnetic field. This is a limitation of the Bohr model
