MedEntry UMAT Trial Exam 2009 - Indicator of UMAT score? (1 Viewer)

Heya guys,

I did the MedEntry workshop this past weekend, and obviously, the included trial exam. My marks were:

S1: 27/44.
S2: 30/36.
S3: 18/30

What kinds of marks are these in the UMAT? Are they good marks? And is this at all a good indicator of how I'll do in the UMAT?

if the difficulty of the exam didn't change, i'd say those would easily put u in the top 10% or even 5%. they'll give you a percentile soon anyway

S3 is pretty solid

S1 can be improved.

Umm, I'd say 18/30 is a solid 85th percentile or higher, 30/36 90+ and 27/44 about a 80ish?

medentry exams are usually harder than the real thing in section 3, about on par in the other 2 sections

Heya Clint Nice meeting you by the way at the lecture. How did you go?

I got

25/44 (Boyapati said around 90th percentile in the real UMAT).
19/36 (Around 80th. Meh, and this is the hardest section to improve on ).
22/30 (He said 100th percentile, and I was shocked. I'm not sure if I beat everyone in this section or not, because I saw around 4 hands).

I don't believe those percentiles are accurate, even though the MedEntry exam was far harder with gay long essay passages to read for section 2 (not a good speed reader, one of my downsides). ACER will be far more brief (I hope. Anyone clarify?)

Congrats to the OP btw. Mine aren't as flashy as yours . Want to trade Section 2 marks? LOL.

ooh! more medentry-ers! boyapati is pretty cool, aye?

yeah, i remember him saying that a 20+ in section 3 is pretty much a 100th percentile. and 30+ in section 2 a near 100th percentile. and added, one mark higher or lower can greatly affect the percentile due to the lower standard deviation.

well, ive heard that ACER's UMAT is far more lengthy in regards to the stimuli in section 1, and overall more difficult. and the rest is in agreement with lionking's comment.

if you have a copy of the trial exam you should have received the answers tho =S Everyone would have hard copies and i so cbf scanning 150 pages xD

yeh i know. but for some reason i cant find ne of them. instead of scanning them, could u pls just type out the answers. for eg: section1: a,d,b,c etc. (dont worry about explanations at all) it would only take a few minutes.

Medentry said they'd send us some kind of posting about our likely percentiles/interview chances using the workshop trial exam marks, has anyone actually received this?

I went to the 9th/10th May workshop and got:

s1: 30/44
s2: 27/35
s3: 16/30

Like OP, I assume this is good??

im just trying to remember what i got on last years trial. i think it was 33/44, 22/36, 17/30. the predicted was 70-80 iirc. however, i didnt do any of the practice exams prior to turning up to the workshop.
i ended up with 99 on the actual umat. the workshop results can be inaccurate so dont be too concerned. just keep practicing!!!

Honestly how you do in the medentry exams is not an indication of anything, IMO. It gives you a fair idea of stuff you're shit at but I would take my results with a grain of salt.

Hmm by the looks of it ull do pretty good in the umat. i know a friend who got 17/44, 26/36 and 15/30. and lets not talk about what i got. lol btw, what percentile rank did u end up with when u got your scores back?

but yeh, i did the umat last year and ddnt do too well. section 1 brought it all down (easily the toughest section). but in my opinion, the med entry exam was almost the same as the umat, although the umat section 1 might have been slightly easier. however, section 3 of the actual umat was piss compared to medentry.

PS can u pls PM me just the answers for the medentry exam?? only the answers(not explanations). i cannot find mine, ive looked everywhere.
