This year i have the worst teachers of the school to teach me for my HSC years (got the timetable last year)

How do i swap classes?

Any tips? Plz don't rant about how it should be YOURSELF and not your teacher's fault cause i had a failed english teacher before and forever lost my passion for english. Also teachers play quite an important role in your HSC motivation.

I really need to swap classes

And four of my teachers are biased markers

talk to the head of department i spose. unless that is the teacher u dont like. but u might not have an option due to lines/how many teachers are qualified to teach a sub, for example my school only had one physics teacher, and he was crappy.

would u tell the head department that the teacher in question is "a crap unqualified goodness knows what teacher" or say something like, "i have nobody in class to be with"? :mad1:

And I would get a parent on side to go with you to back you up and support you. Don't do this alone because it could be swept under the carpet and you could be seen as petulant and a whiner (which I am not syaing you are, because I can fully appreciate where you are coming from).

What I am saying is that word spreads in the staff room and so does gossip (true and otherwise). So, do this openly and with the big wigs on your side. Perhaps, speak to heads of department but since this is a bigger problem across many departments, you and a parent (or both, because nothing beats a big panel of people on your side of the desk, because you can bet the Principal will have a panel on his side) make an appointment with the Principal ASAP and thrash it out in a nice way and see if something can be done. Get the Principal on your side, he/she will quash any nonsense in the staff room.

Remember, though, for them to make concessions, you may need to meet them half way in some things and compromise. But go in big, asking for everything you want and then pare back.

this is good. like for example, last yr my sor teacher wanted to make an assign due in the middle of trials (fucking idiot). like we werent stressed enough. i talked to her about it, but i had the rest of the class there behind me. so she caved. only bad thing was she then had a grudge against me.

Yes..alalder's post is very useful and do consider it closely..

Now, I was in your exact position yesterday, but its all OK now..I asked my Dad to talk to the year co-ordinator and she asked me what the was the issue with the English teacher and why I should be allowed to change classes. I told her everything, and I was able to change classes, although it was difficult to convince her..

All the best!
