Okay, so the new rate is equal to 100% + 7.5% = 107.5%, so 107.5% = $1735, then just solve. If you need help with it, just ask :)

What do the answers say? And how did you get the same answer if yours is to the power of -10 whilst mine was to the power of -4? o_O

I got 6.51 x 10^-4 because I used brackets. I assumed the REAL question was more like (8.72 x 10^3) / (1.34 x 10^7) because that is a more common question lol. If not then mybad xD

(8.72 x 10^3) / (1.34 x 10^7) = 6.51x10^-4

OR without brakets:
6.51x10^10

OMG
SORRY!
im such a douche bag
i wrote the Question wrong
Calculate 8.72 x 10^-3 / 1.34 x 10^7
write your answer in standard form correct to 3 sig fig

doh

the answer makes sense now
but its still in scientific notation :\ when it says show the answer in standard form correct to 3 sig fig, unless that means scientific notation

the book answer is 6.51 x 10^-10

ok to clear it up
im putting (8.72 x 10^-3) / (1.34 x 10^7)
in my calculator
and im getting 6.507462687 x10^-10
which im guess is where they're getting their answer from: 6.51 x 10^-10

sorry for being a pain

lol no thats it for now
thanks everyone and your airness

well we need to find 7.5 percent of 1735 bucks

then we have to minus the percentage answer with our original price (1735)

i havent got a calculator so i dont know the answer

ps :p its not easy stuff!

I HOPE IM RIGHT!!! :S
