So when the timetabes come out, I want to make my timetable exactly the same as my friend. Doable or not? :D

Also how long does it usually take for them to consider credit. I applied for credit ages ago and I haven't heard anything. How do they let me know if its all good? uni email I assume?

You should get a letter (by post), it has a blue form that you need to sign & return before they finalize the credit. Why? I have no idea.

Timetables will, at latest, come out during O-week - and probably a few days earlier.

Getting the same timetable as your friend will probably require you to go into the student centre to ask for some specific alterations to be made. This isn't too difficult if you're willing to trek into uni.

However, remember that you will be meeting a lot of new people at uni - try not to stay too cloistered with your school friends :)

Timetables usually come out either a week before O-week or during O-week, just keep checking MyUni.

If you want to have the same timetable as your friend, you better come up with some good reasons as to why you want to have it changed. Just a hint though, don't state that you want to be with your friend as one of your reasons ;)

Also the student centre has moved to the Jane Foss Russell building, right above the SciTech library and right next to the Wentworth building. To be precise it's on the same level as the 2nd hand bookstore and also the newsagency.

They let me know via uni email, but that was for internal credit.

Oh okay then thanks! So I have to sign something before they approve it? Just great, I should be getting exempt from most of the first year subjects. So just to confirm, once they grant credit, will I be automatically unenrolled from the original subjects? (Because when we came to enroll, they said to just put us into the general first year stream for now, so currently on myuni, we are enrolled in the first year subjects.) Or do we need to unenroll ourselves and then enroll into what we want to do instead of the first year subjects.

BTW I'm at the cumberland campus. =.=

Whats some good reasons for changing the classes :D

One more question, is it possible to study at USYD whilst being on a leave of absence from a different university? I asked my old university and they said that its not allowed or not permitted. So what I'm really asking is if I take a leave of absence from original uni for say 6 months and study at USYD, will the original uni know and bust my ass?

Reason for this is because the USYD course has a criminal record check...... which I may or may not clear! :O So yes, if I don't clear it I don't want to be excluded from USYD and have no course.. This way if I don't get clearance, I could rebound to my old course at my original uni :D

And yeah, just easier because we both transferred from the same uni to the same course, bleh so it would be easier if we were together. LOL

Why on earth do we get our timetables so late when EVERY other uni has their out within days of enrollment?

It ensures everyone is allocated without clashes, if possible. Otherwise the person who enrols earlier will get a better timetable than someone who enrols later, which does not appear to be a fair system (considering different groups enrol at different times).

Even so, I have friends at UTS who have re-organised their timetables to fit into fewer days for pure convenience. So they have not only received their timetables but have had the opportunity to tweak them to what will benefit them best individually.

Yeah, since I'm so uncreative, what are some good reasons that we can provide?

Wait until you talk to a friend who has to put up with a clash because the only stream that doesn't clash is full because lots of people want that time slot. It works both ways, and I think the Sydney system is more egalitarian than others.

you can login into the central timetabling uni and "figure out" your timetable for yourself.

I did mine last year :)

procedure:
goto myuni
click on the tab "my study"
click on the link "login to central timetabling unit"
punch in your subject codes and the timetable will show up.

I use it all the time, cos my engineering/arts degree calls for clashes-o-rama!
