I'm doing distance ed through Karabar for IPT and Business Studies?
I was just wondering if anyone else is doing DE this year, and if so through who and what subject(s)?

I'm doing German continuers through the Open High School. I'm finding it a little weird, and it's a bit awkward doing the speaking over the phone =S So I'm asking the German teacher at my school for some help with it; hopefully it'll turn out ok.

I'm doing French Continuers by the Open High School. I don't find it that overly difficult, yet. The thing I like about studying by distance ed. is that you can go at your own pace and do your work in your time. Personally, that suits me better.

i think economics'd be good to do by de, like kittikhun said with own pace, and just the freedom of NO TAPES like i used to have in languages

or you can ask us :)

i'm still not too sure about the whole 2 DE subjects yet because i only started IPT this week and still haven't started business studies :(

i have already noticed though that i work much better at home where i dont have any need to socialise, i also get very distracted using bored of studies at skool ;)

btw GOOD LUCK everyone

I'm doing Japanese Continuers though Open High School and I just got my work like a week ago (which means I'm behind by like 4 weeks now) and I haven't started yet except for like a couple pages lmao.

I'm doing ESL as my school in Wollongong doesn't offer ESL, only standard English. I'm doing it through Karabar.

Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with them? I'm two weeks behind with work.:uhoh:

karabar, for me is one of the better distance education centres because they have realistic expectation of your work quality and how long it takes (because the teachers also work at a real school) and they're generally pretty good with keeping in contact, you can always call them on the karabar freecall number and e-mails are replied to within 24 hours. As long as you keep in constant contact with your teacher, and don't fall too far behind you may even like it better than a regular class (like i do for IPT)

I thought to do distance ed, you must qualify because there isnt a teacher qualified to teach it or it theres a major conflict with your timetable?

Also, is it too late to pick up a language through Open High?

Na, its basically if your school doesnt offer the course or the major confict with the timetable.

and its not too late, people do come in term 2 and manage but u would need to pull ur head in and just hammer the work in.
