Do enzymes denature when they aren't in their optimum pH?
Say pepsin,
it is most active at a very low pH.
Does it mean that it would denature if it was placed in a basic or neutral condition?

Well they don't necessarily denature. But their level of reaction would significantly decrease. At extreme pH, they would denature, yes.

By extreme pH in this case, I am referring to pH, say aboout 7+ I reckon for pepsin.
