Anyone thinking that Stewart out for five rounds basically rules him out of origin?

If so, things should be kinda interesting, I wouldn't mind seeing something like this:

1. Gidley
2. Hayne
3. Monoghan
4. Cooper
5. Minichello / Gordon.

Not if Bellamy has his way.

Effectively, no, I don't think this rules him out of State of Origin Game 1.

Of course its hard to speculate this far out, but if the Blues selectors pick a gameless, untested Stewart for Origin, particularly over an in-form Gidley, then they are stupider than I thought.

Suspension or no Gidley is better then Stewart and would deserve the first shot at the no 1

I think Stewart is a much better and prolific finisher, but i'd be interested to see Gidley finally prove his worth after the media has hailed him at SOO level where, imo, he was ineffective.

gidley would give an in-form stewart a run for the 1. position anyway.

gidley is in the origin squad regardless, it's just a matter of where.

Pretty big statement about Barba. I don't think he'll make the top 20. Dogs will be good; but not that good.

Minichello or Gorden!?

If the panthers are playing really poor, I don't think he would make it.

Gidley is more effective as a fullback then utility.

Any preferences at hooker for NSW? I would take Ennis.

Gidley was our best in Origin 3 last year.

oooh good game. Inglis has looked good in this game.

Dragons looked good in patches, lacked some cohesion in some places, but with a new coach and several new faces that's expected i guess.

Yeah, As a Dragons fan I'm very pleased with what I saw tonight. Didn't agree with the long range field goal attempts. They should have kicked for position but what is done is done. Great Game

Hornby will have regretted that leg pull that earnt Melbourne the penalty to piggyback them up the field.

Pretty good game. Not sure whether it was a case of 'season opener' blitz, or the two ref system, but the game was fast as.

Strange seeing Wairangi Coopu in the team though, will get used to him I guess.
