What industry do you work in?

Are you casual or part time etc?

How long have you worked there?

Do you have qualifications, eg hospitality cert?

This makes a difference in terms of what the minimum rate of pay is.

That's because your friends' time is worth more to the world than your time. You are not being underpaid. :)

it should be around eleven fifty. maybe a bit less. but definitely over eleven.

food tech at school has nothing to do with it. it's up to the employer if they want to pay you any more than the minimum wage. i have two jobs and i get paid five bucks more an hour for one of my jobs compared to the other.

You just starting working there didnt u? Are you sure your not on a "training" wage or something simillar, anything less then $11 an hour is just dodgy for someone your age.

Last time i checked the fast food industry does not pay employees based on performance. If it did turn out an employee was that bad, they're casuals for that reason.

At 17, no, it's not.
It's called minimum wage for a reason.

Why don't you quit from oporto's and try and get a job where your friends are working instead? Maybe even try getting a job at woolies or coles, surely their pay rates would be much better than a fast food restaurant's.
