thanks heaps
ive had two maths assesments already and havent performed very well in either, first one 70 percent second one 55 percent .. and they were both worth 15 %... saying that the ranks are moderate and most of the marks are around 70 percent with a few exceptions in teh 80's n 90's..
i just want to know is it too late to get a band 6 or is it still possible?
approximately 8 get band 6 every year in maths ext 1 at my school

work on improving your ranking. and anything can happen.

You still have 70% of your HSC, so improve your ranks and you can still get Band 6 if not a high band 5.

Thanks; Bondi is outside my area. Else I can give you a free assessment to see if someone like me can significantly improve your performance. It is a very appealing challenge to be able to boost someone's score by, say 10%.

How do you assess them and boost up their score? =S

I'll study the types of difficulties encountered and mistakes made. I'll ask certain questions that can reveal strengths and weaknesses. Are you reasonably bright but have not had the benefit of good teaching or have not approached the study "correctly"? If you have been making so-called "silly mistakes", are these really silly mistakes or are they symptomatic of something more fundamental. Often students say they've made many silly mistakes that upon closer scrutiny reflect basic misconceptions and weak background knowledge. Much of these assessments are subjective of course. If student is redeemable, then we can work on identifying the areas of deficiency and work on remedying them as quickly as possible. Of course anyone can say this. You need the requisite experience and mathematical background to be able to do this properly.

I personally find it very satisfying and rewarding to be able to make any positive difference.

Who do you mean by we? Any how much experience of this do you have?
