Nah, but we do individually. Our teacher doesn't check them or anything.
The HSC is past the point where you can study just using your book.

lol i didnt think that was what the OP was asking..

i thought they were asking whether you categorise making summaries as a form of studying, not whether their class at school makes study summaries.

correct me if im wrong, but that's just how it seemed to me..

ah okay. I was just confused what you initially meant.

And yeah I classify note taking as a form of studying.

What kinds of summaries do you guys do? I need ideas...

I mainly refer to my subject's study design (this is for VCE, don't know what HSC students use) and make notes with the study design dotpoints as the headings. And I love diagrams and flashcards!! It makes studying so much more fun... :D

Well Study design = syllabus for us.

I use syllabus dot points to make notes :)

but is that all you do? Do summarise the summaries? Hehehe
Um, when I have the syllabus dot points, I make my notes according to that.

After making my notes, I read over them and do past papers :)

I'd classify study summaries as preparation of studying. You have to actually 'study' them after you make them. Henceforth, procrastination comes into play.

Depends on the subject really. For some subjects such as the sciences, I found making summaries quite useful. For the humanities/maths, I found that practising essays and past paper questions respectively were more productive. I don't recall making any summaries through a collective effort, but certain notes from Bored were very useful for me when it came to preparing for my trials.
