okay wannabe iron
I'm not sure if Iron has ever spoken on pacifism, he's more into the essence of faith and love, the kind of love that can only exist between a creator and his creation.

Environmentally, the Styer would suck balls if we were to be attacked in out own back yard. Sand + moving parts= a nasty jam.

Yes its fine for what it was designed for, but with weapons being constantly upgraded to the extent where range, reliability and effectiveness are better then that of the Styer, wouldnt we want the our infantry to have the best weapons suited to our environment and the areas where we do peace keeping?
Lolwut? It has no more moving parts then any other widely used assault rifle and you can field strip them (including completely changing the barrel) in about 10 seconds. Fact of the matter is the basic design mechanisms of assault rifles haven't changed much in the last 40 years, nor do they need to.

Stuff like the HK-416 and SCAR-L do show promise, but they don't have any significant advantages over the Steyr.

We should start working on a virus that could potentially wipe out all life on earth, once we have this we won't need much of a military. Problem solved.

sif abandon the cities. Imagine ADF troops holding off cunts on George St., the city circle train stations and the CBD.

Oh noes, galaxy world is gone D=.:haha:
Nah, would destroy the city. Maybe insert some Special Forces teams to cause a ruckas once the frontline has moved past it and the enemy has the city, but if you try to defend the city en masse, then the enemy will just be like "fuck this, carpet bomb/nuke that fucker."

assuming the enemy weren't attacking civilians, cities are just as good for guerilla warfare as the bush.

That's a large assumption.
Plus there's collateral damage in cities.

I was hoping the HK-416 would be field tested here, tests in America showed the beast at play.

Buried in sand, one shake, firing away.

Submerged in water, brought up, fired away.

360 spin whilst firing from a drum feed, not one jam.

Crazy asshole firing field strips it and pulls out the bolt claiming it to be cool and proves it.

Oh and Dragon Armour.

Which regional neighbour that we were previously defenceless against, will this $73 billion now give us the capacity to repel?

India.
There's an unholy alliance between Tehran, Beijing, Tokyo and New Delhi happening out there people. Tehran wants Arabia, China wants Siberia, India wants Australia and Tokyo wants Pacific. They're ganging up on the West.
It's true. All of it. Just read Clancy. He's on my side!

... Or until your fully-sik zooped up WRX Impreza runs out of gas thanks to it's incredibly low mileage, so you have to return home to all your identical townhouses which you mortgaged yourself up to the hilt to afford and are now are trying to pay off by servicing the drive-through at the local Macca's.
Bravo western suburbs. Bravo.
