whats that? rings a bell.
my school would win awards for most donated...

but i didnt cause im chicken shit:spzz:

we had a 'vampire' teacher who would try to force ppl to say yes... hahaha

LOL its like an award to the school that donates the most blood.
Cerdon College has won it for the past few years straight.
but this year they screwed up LOL
maybe this is only for schools in the Parramatta Diocese

I'd be more worried about AIDS if I were the one receiving the blood, rather than the one giving it

I've given blood a few times now. I love how they warn me I might feel dizzy and need to rest afterwards and tell me to look away when they're putting the needle in. They do it every time!
I'm O+ which means I should have blood whenever I need it, so thats sufficiently cool.

Donated 6 or 7 times.
My iron is usually right on the minimum but I seem to scrape in by one or two points every time.

Am due to donate again now (last week was 3 months).
And yeah pretty much donated every three months since I turned 16 ^__^

Last time I donated blood, the blood came out insanely fast (just over three minutes) and I lost all feeling in my arm (the nurse was "nice" enough to hit a major vein apparently)... and ended up with massive bruising and stuff.
It rocked.
Even better was fainting in the city 35 minutes later... Fail :(

Quick question about plasma donation.

I heard that if you donate plasma, you can do it more frequently. Can someone briefly tell me how this works?

How can they just pure plasma from your body system? I also heard that it is little bit more longer...I am definitely interested in this because I can donate more frequently instead of waiting for 3 months to do it.

It takes an hour and you can do it every 4 weeks or so between whole blood donation.
They hook a needle up to your arm which takes out whole blood... it then removes the plasma from the whole blood and then another needle returns that blood (minus the plasma) to your body.
