but then again i was pretty lucky to get a prize at all since i only did 2 questions in q21-30 and guessed the rest

You can still get a Distinction if you get first 25 correct and don't attempt the last ten questions. It's what I do every year. Also, don't waste time with the last ten questions if you know you can't get them - you would be better off checking your other questions.

Westpac is quite hard, you don't have to score quite high to get a High Distinction. In Yr 9 I only got like 18 out of 30 yet still got a High Distinction .

i got a distinction for the year 11 one last year, but a hd for year ten and nine the years beofre, haha i'm now doing 4 unit, btw its now called the australian mathematics competions, and is sponsered by westpac, i love it, especially if i can get one or two of the last questions right

Which UNSW exam are you talking about. I did the 6 questions 3 hour one in year 9 and walked out after 2 hours because I didn't understand half the damn paper.

ICAS I would assume. 40 mostly easy questions in an hour or so

Getting a prize for westpec is pretty hard. I got it only once...i was like top 0.2% of the country or something. My friend got this for 3 years in a row, placed like 0.1% or something for 3 years - freak...
