two or three times makes it even worse, thats the kind of frequency you do for gaining muscle mass

your legs are already naturally big (in the kindest way possible), theyll get massive if you work them out

I used to just set my alarm for 7am, have my salad-bowl breakfast (cereal/oats/proteinpowder etc) and go straight back to sleep (surprisingly easily). Wake up at 11am and it's comfortable sandwich time.

Did a successful bulk several weeks ago, got myself up to my target bulk weight (100kg) and finally started to cut back (~95kg, target cut: ~90-92kg) and get some good definition. Then my knee popped it's shit (dislocated) and left me limpy and back up to 100kg in the blink of a button. Still can't do bench press or standing type exercises in full form. Frustrating because all I can do is strength consolation exercises with a 2m red oak bo stick from the comfort of a computer chair.
Lol at breakfast - did you notice you gained more fat if you ate before you went back to sleep?

Sweet bulk man, can you give us a snapshot of your diet (a typical day, calories and protein?) I find I eat too much or too little.

also do you lift for a sport or just bodybuilding?

Final question: how the fuck did you fuck yourself up like that brah? crazy!

dang i can't recall the names of that machine and another machine that are rather awkward to use..

anyone know of the machine where you lie on your tummy, and you lift the weights by moving your lower legs upwards :)
that one is quite awkward too!
Also i don't like the idea that many people could be checking out my butt with my face downwards, although that wouldn't be the case knowing the kind of posterior i have :shy:

Mark Rippetoe said:

Machines, on the other hand, force the body to move the weight according to the design of the machine. This places some rather serious limitations on the ability of the exercise to meet the specific needs of the athlete. For instance, there is no way for a human being to utilize the quadriceps muscles in isolation from the hamstrings in any movement partem that exists independent of a machine designed for this purpose. No natural movement can be performed that does this. Quadriceps and hamstrings always function together, at the same time, to balance the forces on either side of the knee. Since they always work together, why should they be exercised separately? Because somebody invented a machine that lets us?

Even machines that allow multiple joints to be worked at the same time are less than optimal, since the pattern of the movement through space is determined by the machine, not the individual biomechanics of the human using it. Barbells permit the minute adjustments during the movement that allow individual anthropometry to be expressed.

God damnit I love Rippetoe.
