I am an international student and basically I have had a really tough time starting off I am scared that I may end up failing 3 out of my 4 subjects this semester.
What would I do from here?

Repeat the subjects...
next semester or next year if they aren't pre-requisites.

And if they are prerequisites?
E.g. Stats?
What would happen to next semster?
Like Stats A i fail this semster what happens to Stats b next time?

Thanks!

Well I'm pretty sure that unless the head of school allows you to, you wouldn't be able to complete Stats B (if Stats A is a prerequisite) until you retook Stats A.

For Aus students, if you fail more than 50% of your subjects in a year, then they review your status and will usually "give you a break" for a semester or up to a year.

But being International Student, you would run into visa problems because Internationals need to complete a certain amount of subjects per semester. So my advice would be to talk to Student Administration/International Student Support asap and find out if this is going to affect your visa status, before worrying about how your degree program fits together.

You'lll get a letter saying that the university has identified you as a 'Student at risk' and you are told to attend seminars and fill in a survey. Dunno what happens if you fuck up a second time.

i think if you fail large numbers of units for two semesters in a row then you get asked to show cause why they shouldn't chuck you out.

lol I failed 2/3 units in one of my semesters and didn't turn up to the seminar or fill in the survey cause I knew it wasn't going to happen again.

Read Advice for students: Academic Progression and the Staying on Track program - Secretariat - The University of Sydney

In general, I would recommend against trying to overload future semesters to try to make up for the poor semester 1.

i know many people who failed and then went on to try make up for it by overloading, or trying to do 3rd year subjects in thier second year and just ended up going even worse.

if you fail first year subjects, your main priority should be to make sure in the next semester to complete those subject u failed.

that way you may only need to do 3 subjects per semester for another 3 years.

if they are electives, then you can choos whatever elective u want, u need not redo the same elective... for core subjects well u need to do redo them obviously

pass is "ok"

It says students will be reported as not fulfilling the requirements if they don't successfully complete more than 50% of the credit points they were enrolled in.

Hm, my predicament is.. I went really well in 50% of my subjects (got high distinctions from essays, speeches, quizes, etc), but I failed the next two subjects (one because I had to have an emergency appointment at the orthodontist) and the other because I hated it.

But that's just 50% fail, not "more than 50%", so... would I also be included in that or? :\\

It's really ironic that I can go from high distinctions straight to fails.

But they only consider your overall unit mark - what you get in individual assessments is irrelevant.

Read the wording carefully. It looks like you failed 50% of your CPs, and passed 50% of your CPs. You did not pass more than 50% of your CPs - hence at risk.

Oh shit. I'm fucked. And it was an elective too. I should never have picked such a mindnumbingly boring course. Now I'm going to be shit scared about getting any letters from Uni. Raa, I hate being on any form of probation. :burn: Maybe if I'm super duper lucky and shut my eyes, I won't get anything and I'll be saved!
