Conscription IS taking away the rights of people.
Theres NO other way to explain it. This is entirely regardless of whether or not they wanted to join. They had NO CHOICE.
(Set aside fleeing the country, however, thats irrational and stupid. The right to Freedom and Choice is something that Humanity should uphold until the MOST dire moments.)

If I told the army they we're abusing my rights, they should care. They are an organisation devoted to protecting the citizens and interests of a nation. Right?

Coming from Russia, where conscription is still mandatory (and Russian army is the last place you'd wanna be), I don't know why people even bring this up.

Conscription wastes the potential of people who want to do something with their life, it wastes the lives of people who could possibly spend the time to become entrepreneurs/professionals and increase economic potential.

Conscription-based army will never be more efficient than a professional army for a basic reason: the people do not want to be there.

If you support conscription you are a communist/socialist fuckwit, nothing more.

I always thought Conscription was used when a military branch is lacking in numbers, so essentially the military is doing something wrong.
