Allow me to vent.

"The Department" has recently allowed access to YOUTUBE.com from school computers

i am a fucking youtube addict...this is NOT beneficial to my ATAR.

yet "The Department" blocks access to our emails, BOS forums, GOOGLE DOCS which is where i keep all my files...there is little use for the school computers.


wtf @ det ffs.

just don't use youtube. it's not that hard.

email yourself your files to your det email account. just use your det email account for most correspondence and you shouldn't need to check bos forums during school time.

problem solved. you have nothing to vent about whatsoever.

Well i guess there isn't much you can do about it if you are addicted to youtube.

You gotta practice self-control simple as that probably easier said then done but must be done.

i think you can get onto bos forums sometimes but not sign in/post.

nah i have no problem NOT using youtube at school lol i just think its the last thing i need. i dont watch youtube at school.

The det portal site is often down and my name is really long so the email is such a hassle to type out lol. Im more annoyed that google docs is still blocked...it would be so much more beneficial for group assignments and classwork + all my files are there.

just control your tempations, OR intentionally post a crap video, get crap comments..and ther you go..you start detesting youtube from them on..

Everyone at my school goes around it. There's this account of some DET Admin, and someone somehow managed to get his username/password. So yeah - we've pretty much access to everything now.

But yes, I agree, the whole censorship thing is crap. They even banned BoS. =P

Although DET struck hard in my final school year thank goodness I no longer have to face this fascist implementation any further by the DET and enjoy virtually unrestricted high speed internet at UNSW.

Hahahah - well, we were doing a Chemistry assignment during class, and by the end of class, teacher wanted to see SOMETHING. So we sorta bludged around, hoping that we could just run to BoS in the last 5 mins to find something to just put up on our screen.... =P
