My interpretation is compare/contrast the two texts, while looking at how the composers use and manipulate context, the form of each text (e.g. book, movie?) and the values characters adopt in each text and how each of these interact with each other, and how and WHY the authors deliberately manipulate each of these characteristics

This is a what my teacher taught me in year 8 and it always helps me

Think of the essay as a trip to the zoo.
-You plan the day i.e. what you're going to do (introduction)
-You go to the zoo, do the stuff u planned, take some happy snaps (e.g. main points) (body)
-You go home, look at your happy snaps and remember the highlights of your day (conclusion)

i dont know what sort of structure that is but it seems highly ineffective if you dont know what youre doing

we use STEEL

S: Statement (Eg, Composer has utilized symbolism throughout this text to represent his POV or whatever)
T: Technique, pretty much same as above but you explain it in detail and how it was used in the text. which goes to..
E: Example, from the text which uses this technique
E: Effect. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. The effect of the technique is how it was was used to reinforce/strengthen/manipulate your essay question (or whatever) and its effect on the audience. (Eg, His use of symbolism showed the audience that Simba had an inherent birthright as King and thus the audience was enraptured from that point on rarara) not as elementary as that mind you, but make it the focus of your paragraph!!

so yeah, if you want some paragraphs that use this structure i can send you them, but everybody i know uses STEEL in evvverrry single thing they write whether it be essay, speech, review whatever.

For this question in particular, i.e. the "compare" type of essay, you might want to think about structuring along the lines of:

- Intro

- An example of how Text A explores the tension (e.g. by examining Text A's use of metaphors, for example, or imagery)

- A similar example of how Text B explores the tension (e.g. an example where Text B uses metaphors/imagery)

- Second example, where Text A explores the tension in another way (e.g. you might examine here Text A's focus on a certain theme or value)

- Second example for Text B, where it explores the tension in another way (e.g. the same theme/value)

etc etc


That's a good way to make your essay flow, as the similar focus on techniques or themes/values will smoothly link the two different texts together.

Frost has utilized personification to render the road as human and as a prominent device to relate a physical to an inner journey, ‘To where it bent in the undergrowth’, ‘because it was grassy and wanted wear’. Giving one path the human characteristic of ‘wanting wear’ reveals that it is more obscure and less travelled, offering a journey of new discoveries and the exploration of unseen territory that can be profoundly different to the other path which seems like it has been travelled more often. But, when Frost stops and evaluates both paths he decides that they are actually comparable ‘Had worn them really about the same’ which further suggests that at times, it might not be the context of the journey that decides what effect it will have on the traveller but actually the influence of the travellers perceptions, beliefs and response to change that will mould the effect of the journey.

Two factions dominated the Russian government, the left and right parties. Essentially Stalin marginalized political points of views and oscillated between the two parties when it suited his personal gains. The left faction, led by Trotsky as well as Kamenev and Zinoviev with lesser roles, sought rapid industrialisation, immediate socialization of agriculture and a continuation of war communism. The right faction, led by Bukharin and Rykov wanted an extension of Lenin’s NEP and a gradual adoption of Communism principles in Russia. His legacy of ‘Socialism in one country’ drew appeal from either side. Stalin’s political position was moderate and manipulated policy to suit his own political agenda.
