school rank in 05 198
school rank in 06 unkown
school rank in 07 405
school rank in 08 452 or somehting like that
in 05, my school had their first and only mx2 student until 4 yrs later they got their second me. o yea its a new school only been open 14 years.
so basically i say my school rank is not that relevant. unless it was always in the top 200 or so.

ranks (haha like 54 canditure)
std english - =1/37 (two people 1st at an average of 75%, 3rd has an average of 64%)
Physics - 1/6 (average 87% 2nd's average is 73%) dunno if this is relevant the dux of my school last year came 1st in his physics class, we have the same teacher they did and 4 out of 6 people are beating the dux's average mark, it was a very shameful year.
chemistry - 1/6 (average 76% =( this is my hardest marking teacher by far 2nds average is 63%)
2u math - 1/7 haha started with 24 (average 99% seconds average is 77%)
3u math - 1/1 started with 7, 2 even dropped down to general *shakes head in disaproval* (average 86%)
4u math - 1/1 average of 78%
Business studies - 2/17 (1st average of 80% my average 79% 3rd average of 72%)

lets see what people come up with

immpossible to estimate accurately based on ranks as ur sig says
also hard for test scores unless we know the difficulty of ur exams and markers relative to the HSC exams.

all i will say if u got those marks in my school u'd get a 99+, though i'm told my school marks pretty hard.

What did previous dux of your school get?
Your ATAR is however well you do. Do a past paper and see how you do. You can probably 'calculate' your ATAR based on how well you do in the past papers.

Einstein calculator gives exactly 90.00 UAI
which =90.80 ATAR using UAC's conversion table

That's only really relevant if his marks are a good indication of what he will get in the actual HSC.
Which they're not necessarily, particularly seeing as the size of the overall cohort is so low.

I know but do you have any better method of estimating ATAR than that?

And btw, Einstein calculator scales the marks for you, assuming that you put your HSC marks.

Hmm, maybe actually doing the HSC and finding out, just a thought. ATAR/UAI predictions are baseless.

Yeah, sure, Einstein scales it for you, but seeing as he's the ONLY student in half his courses, his entire mark will be determined by how he goes in the HSC.

Well yea, I'm assuming that his assessments are of similar difficulty as the HSC and that his past performance indicates his future performance. That's the closest estimation I can do without additional data.

Past performance as an indicator of future performance only really works in a larger cohort, where the individual's performance is not as crucial, as the ranking system helps them out a lot.

As it's a relatively new school, which has been a little bit hit and miss in terms of school rankings, it's difficult to say that, beyond a doubt, the school is assessing their students internally at a similar difficulty to HSC.

I don't think you got my point if you were criticising me.

I wasn't criticising you, more like making the point that the OP's question is utterly impossible to answer accurately, or close to accurately.
correct.
the einstein estimate is just as inaccurate as what anyone can say.

So let me get this straight! There are 37 people doing english, 6 people doing physics, 6 people doing chemistry, 7 people doing 2u, 1 person doing 3u and 1 person doing 4u and 17 doing business studies!

so YOU make up the cohort of students at your school doing 3u and 4u! And I thought it was weird cos at my school we only had about 25 people do specialist maths (more or less like 4u) and I thought that was small! There will be private schools in NSW with 100+ doing 3u and maybe 80+ doing 4u and you'll be eaten alive because they will have that competitive side to beat eachother.

Your ATAR will be determined by your exams EXCLUSIVELY.

yep i make up the cohort for 3u and 4u at my school lol. there are a few small schools around my area, we do link up lessons through video call with a school coz they dnt have enough people to keep their class going. our 6 in chem video call a class of 5. lucky for me my school puts large funds into keeping small classes, the small classess also allows more 1 on 1 time with the teacher, but yea less competition. then again we are going against each other in the entire state, that is some motivation to try
