my gpa ended up to be 5.4 and WAM of 73.

is that good or bad or average?

73 WAM is close to a distinction average, so it is quite good.

WAM and GPA are used by different faculties to help determine whether they will allow you to switch degrees; and occasionally, employers may calculate these figures to help make HR decisions. Neither your WAM nor your GPA appear on your transcript.
