I've found two past hsc questions that ask

"Support your evaluation with a close analysis of TWO key extracts from Hamlet."

Now my question is: what is an "extract" ?
Is it a scene or something else ?

Could you please reply ASAP because I'm about to write my essay and i'm waiting for this answer.

Thanks

an extract is just a part of the play, like a piece of dialogue

well an extract is usually not like an entire scene but there isn't really a set range
for your question, a couple of important soliloquies would do

so for: "Support your evaluation with a close analysis of TWO key extracts from Hamlet"

I can only use 2 important soliloquies and not a "couple" right ??

you should use two whole pieces of the play, but they don't have to be soliloquys - could be dialogue

I'm sure you can use more if you believe it will help you. I was under the impression that in the HSC, they use the phrase: 'at least'.
