I've heard rave reviews about it everywhere. I have the books and gosh they are good, much better than Meyer's sparkly vampire shit. Is the DVD of season 1 worth the buy or not? Trying to con the boyfriend into getting it as a birthday pressie

True Blood is awesome. I find the two main characters a little cringe worthy 'Soookiee' but the supporting cast is fantastic, particularly Tara, Eric and Pam. I think they really spun straw into gold with this property.

No its not an anime, it's basically porn with a mystery plot and vampires. I've only seen the first 4 episodes but because I already know the 'whodunnit' for season 1, I'm not all 'ohmigod i need to see the next episode' about it. I've seen the dvd on sale for about 27 bucks at Target. It's not too expensive for a series dvd, but considering it only has 12 episodes... its up to you. I'd say watch a couple of episodes online first and if you love it, buy the dvd.

Eric is awesome and attractive in a very creepy way. I wouldn't expect it to be identical to the books though - Tara is much more prominent and other stuff happens which is different.

If you think True Blood is porn, even porn with some extra bits thrown in, then I can say with perfect certainty that you have no idea what porn is and just like to be narky about sex on film.

Eeek, I recently fell in love with the Trueblood series! When i got the first season, I honestly stayed up and watched it all in one day... maybe that's just because I'm a lazy uni student, but eh!

My opinion? Definitely get your hands on it =]

Just started watching this show, and it's really good. That part in season 1 when they use a needle to suck out the blood from Jason's **** made me really squirmish.

seriously. the best possible turn the plot could have taken, i was so excited

shame eggs died, i didn't really notice him too much but i liked him in the last episode. tara will prob go on some rebellious tirade against jason and sookie once she finds out it wasn't andy.

the showdown between bill and eric could be very good too

im wondering what they'll do with sam. him and lafyette are def my fav characters

i hope they introduce some more supernaturals like maybe warewolfs or hobbits or hardstylers
